encourage your child to take advantage of these rewarding reading programs.
Our school participates in two State of Florida reading programs. The Sunshine State Young Reader’s Award (SSYRA) is designed for 3-5 grade students, and the Florida Reading Association’s (FRA) program is designed for K-2 students. Both of these programs encourage the reading of quality fiction books, for which students can win prizes. Click on the links below to learn more about the Florida reading programs.

We are excited to announce that our Accelerated Reader program ws rolled out to staff and students on September 24, 2009. At SOES the AR program is used as a motivational tool for reading and is not tied to a reading grade. The AR program is designed to reward students who track their own reading to win prizes at graduating levels of attainment. The list of available titles associated with AR quizzes is located below where the books can be viewed by book title or reading level. In our Media Center the AR books are identified by colored and leveled dots on the spine of each book. Prizes are delivered to students on a monthly basis. If there are any questions regarding the AR program, please feel free to contact your child's teacher.
